Event highlight Young tech enterprises at Hannover Messe
A dedicated area called ‘Young Tech Enterprises’ will be created for new tech entrepreneurs at the mega fair so that they can showcase their fresh ideas and innovations in front of the crème of the industry.
Hannover Messe is one of the world’s largest trade fairs for industrial technology. This year, the event is expected to attract 5,000 exhibitors, 220,000 visitors and more than 150 speakers. The mammoth event is scheduled to be held from April 23–27, 2018 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds in Hanover, Germany.
All key technologies and core areas of industry – from research and development, industrial automation, IT, industrial supply, production technologies and services to energy and mobility technologies – can be found here. As a highlight, Hannover Messe 2018 has chosen Mexico as its Partner Country and hence, the country will have the opportunity to present its new technologies, investment opportunities, innovative growth strategies and research projects to the global leaders of the industry.
Young tech enterprises
One of the most prominent segments of the show is the ‘Young Tech Enterprises’ area wherein the new generation of entrepreneurs present their fresh ideas and products to the global industry. To encourage the startups, startup networks, accelerators and supporters further, a dedicated live presentation area will also be set up at the venue. This acts as the perfect platform where young tech entrepreneurs get the opportunity to interact with numerous leading companies across the globe. By participating at the young tech enterprises segment, youngsters can also exchange industry knowledge and share their experiences with other budding founders from the sector.
The main young tech enterprises area is located in hall 17 but this year, Hannover Messe is expanding its startup program with two new exhibit areas: one in hall 19/20 for startups from the intralogistics and supply chain management sector and another one in hall 27 for young companies from the energy sector. The program includes an exhibition as well as a forum, pitches, matchmaking events and workshops. The topics range from ‘Cooperation between startups and SMEs’, ‘End goals of startups’ and ‘Media awareness for startups’ to ‘An open source method for digitalization’, ‘Introduction to 3D printing’ and ‘How do you combine excitement with expertise’.
The event also holds a competition called ‘Startup Pitches @ Young Tech Enterprises’ for young companies to briefly present their new products and developments. The participants compete for cash and material prizes and generate awareness in the media and among investors.
Global hub for industrial start ups
Hannover Messe realises the importance of providing exposure to young talents as according to statistics, 650,000 new companies were formed in 2016. Within this, 248,000 people became full time employees and 115,000 opted to become entrepreneurs. Roughly 50% of them have a market-ready offer or are in the process of registering their first sales. In addition to this, 15% of the founders have introduced new products in 2016 and almost half of them are realising a specific business idea. This is not all! About 68% of startups cooperated with other startups in 2017 and 75% of startups were founded more than one person. More than 500,000 full time jobs were created on average in 2017 and 50.4 % cooperated with established companies in 2017. It is against this background that Hannover Messe is determined to tap the huge opportunity present in the market which will prove beneficial for the economy and the industry as a whole.
Hannover Messe is a global hub for industrial start ups and therefore, new tech entrepreneurs could not have asked for a better platform to showcase their innovations. The event right states that there are countless start up events, but only at Young Tech Entrepreneurs do top international companies, accelerators, investors, network partners and potential customers join start ups and spinoffs under one roof!
