Lewa presents for the first time an AR solution which enables a model of an Ecoflow pump type LDZ to be represented using a tablet, with virtual placement of the pump anywhere in the room.
Richly detailed insights into complex pump construction
By means of Ground Plane Detection, the tablet camera detects the floor of the room in question and, on the screen, places the model on the floor. The freely scalable 3D model then provides richly detailed insights into the complex construction of the pump; it allows, for example, the observer to move freely in the room with the tablet and to inspect the exhibit individually from all angles, inside and outside. In addition, various animations can be started to visualise extreme scenarios such as a broken membrane or a blocked suction pipe – the user is then shown the reaction and working of the Ecoflow pump in the relevant situation.
Until now, Lewa has usually displayed the inner life of its pumps using plexiglass heads or cross sections. Now the development of the AR app represents an important step on the way to a digitally optimised visualisation of the pump. “This new way of visualising enables a representation and display which is not only new, but also richly detailed – entirely without a real pump,” says Ronja Pecher, marketing manager at Lewa. In addition, it will be possible to use this AR solution flexibly in the future, for example for in-house or external training and as a useful sales tool for travelling representatives.
Behaviour of pumps in various pressure ranges
Also on view at the fair will be the new DIN EN ISO-certified models of the Nikkiso non-seal centrifugal canned pump. Lewa will furthermore be illustrating the behaviour of pumps in different pressure ranges, especially under low suction pressure, as well as the influence of pulsation on a pump system using a pulsation stand. At the fair booth, Heinz Woldering of Lewa-Nikkiso will be available for preliminary questions and consulting.
