25 years of Arburg USA USA: The machine construction company Arburg celebrates 25 years of presence in USA
Arburg, the manufacturer of injection moulding machines, celebrated 25 years of its presence in the USA with a ceremony. It was attended by high-level representatives from Germany. At the same time Arburg Inc. opened its new centre in the US.
On 16th and 17th June 2015 the Arburg branch in USA had two reasons to celebrate. With about 245 customers and guests, the 25 year old presence of Arburg Inc. was celebrated and the US centre was inaugurated at the new location in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. With partner Michael Hehl and managing directors Heinz Gaub (technology) and Helmut Heinson (sales) a high-level delegation of the parent company took part in the celebrations.
Ceremony with German representatives
Michael Hehl, managing partner and management spokesman of Arburg, conveyed congratulations on behalf of the entire parent company at the inauguration event: “North America is the biggest foreign market for Arburg where we have installed more than 12,000 machines. The new centre in Rocky Hill is another milestone in our success story in the USA. Apart from Arburg Inc., the subsidiary established in 1990, we have representation in USA with Arburg Technology Centres California (1993) and Midwest (2007).” In this context, Michael Hehl thanked customers for their confidence in the family business and for the successful collaboration. As a recognition for the strong commitment in the last 25 years, he presented the Arburg anniversary memento and certificate to Friedrich Kanz, director of Arburg Inc. Friedrich Kanz thanked him and said “With our new US centre, our infrastructure and our highly motivated team of experts we will further intensify the collaboration with our customers”. He also added, “We are ideally positioned for another successful 25 years in the USA.”
As a representative of the US-plastics industry, William (Bill) R. Carteaux, CEO and president of the industrial association SPI, gave a deeper insight into the contribution made by SPI and the plastics processing industry to the US economy in the framework of a keynote speech.
New US-centre on 2500 square meters
The new Arburg building has a total area of 2500 square meters and has cutting-edge infrastructure. The core of the building is the showroom which has place for seven all-rounder injection moulding machines that are used for trials and training purposes. There is also enough space for assembling and dismantling complete turnkey systems, their demand is increasing rapidly in the USA. We also have an extensive storehouse for spare parts, machines and an area for the Freeformer. The system for industrial additive manufacturing is available in the USA since the trade fair NPE in March 2015.
On the occasion of the anniversary there were plenty of opportunities to marvel at the numerous possibilities offered by the new location in Rocky Hill. On both the days a total of 245 guests were informed about the latest topics through talks or using exhibits. Industrial additive manufacturing with the Freeformer, automated production cells and the talk by the director from the technical department Heinz Gaub on “innovative lightweight construction solutions” generated a great deal of interest.
