The family-run company Trumpf is one of the leading technological organisations that create machine tools and lasers for industrial manufacturing. With its innovative and superior quality technologies, the firm has helped various sectors around the world to perform at their best. The company through its Chinese subsidiary Trumpf (China) Co. will be participating at the 14th edition of the China International Machine Tool & Tools Exhibition 2018.

With only five months into this year, the Group has already introduced two new and state-of-the-art technologies—TruLaser Tube 5000 and TruTool FCN 250—for the manufacturing sector.

TruLaser Tube 5000

The company’s new product TruLaser Tube 5000 combines both the tube and thread cutting processes in a single machine. Designed with a four-position tool changer and a spindle that allows the machine to produce threads in thin- and thick-walled tubes, the TruLaser Tube 5000 also proves beneficial for saving time and logistical effort in production. Not having enough substance material is often an area of concern for thin-walled tubes as threads are not only cut and formed, but also produced by flow drilling.

This technique is particularly suitable for tubes with wall thicknesses of one to three millimeters. To make sure that the threads are cut in the right place an unique step has been added in the machine which includes the first machining step in which the flow drill produces an extrusion in which, in the second step, a heavy-duty thread is cut.

Another area of concern is the variation of the material flow. The new machine takes this aspect into consideration and also makes it convenient for the user to feed in his material even from the warehouse. This takes place with the assistance of the optional LoadMaster Tube automated loading system that can be equipped with an extended conveyor path. Unloading is also no problem since the machine is also capable of transport the products directly into wire mesh boxes.

The machine is equipped to cut tubes up to 152 mm in diameter along with wall thicknesses of up to 10 mm. Incorporated with the firm’s trusted TruFlow laser with 2.0, 2.7 or 3.2 kilowatts of laser power, the machine produces high-quality edges even in thick-walled pipes.

TruTool FCN 250

The organisation has also introduced TruTool FCN 250, the first of its kind nibbler in the world which enables one to slit diverse fiber composite materials. It is also capable of separating thermosetting plastics and thermoplastic polymers as well as carbon-fiber reinforced plastics, glass-fiber reinforced plastics and aramid-fiber reinforced plastics. The tool comprises a high working speed of 1.9 meters per minute and convinces with a long service life of its wear parts thanks to the special coating on the nibbler. Beneficial for numerous sectors such as aerospace, automotive as well as prototype manufacturing, TruTool FCN 250 is expected to be available in the market this year.
