The smart and digital automation event SPS IPC Drives is the hub of innovative technologies in today’s constantly changing industry. Apart from new solutions being exhibited, the trade fair also hosts a series of interesting sessions to make industry players aware of the latest trends in the sector.
Germany welcomes industry players from diverse fields to attend the popular SPS IPC Drives show. With a focus on smart and digital automation, the trade fair is all set to begin in Nuremberg from November 27–29, 2018. Held every year, the show witnessed the presence of around 1,675 exhibitors and 70,264 visitors in 2017 and is expected to increase this number this time around. To accommodate the footfalls, a new hall 3C has also been made available for visitors. The latest cutting-edge solutions in the industry along with expert forums and summits can all be accessed under one roof!

Formnext 2018: Global platform for the additive manufacturing industry
Interactive segments
Apart from the display of innovative technologies, the trade fair will also host a series of lectures and presentations for its visitors. On all the days of the show, a dedicated exhibition forum will be organised by publishing houses and associations in which topics related to automation issues will be discussed. Also, exhibitors of the trade fair will introduce the audience to new innovations in the electric automation segment via technical lectures and vendor presentations. The session on all the days will begin from 09:20.
Automation 4.0 summit
An exclusive summit titled the ‘Automation 4.0 summit’ will also be held concurrently to the show. Organised by WEKA Fachmedien, the special segment now in its 4th year has chosen four thought provoking subjects in line with its theme – Edge computing in the industry – possibilities and limits, TSN and OPC UA in the industry, IoT-platforms in the industry and Sensors for Industry 4.0.

Guided tours
Guided tours will also be arranged at the show for the convenience of the visitors. Scheduled to take place from 10 AM on all the three days, the two-hour tour will be held in English and includes a maximum of six exhibitors. The themes of the tour are IT-Security in automation, Smart production and Smart connectivity.
