The Semaco tools and software company is based in Czechia, Europe. The firm offers tooling software along with a range of CNC machining tools for the manufacturing industry. At this year’s MSV Engineerng show, Semaco plans to showcase some of the latest solutions by its partners including the multifunction high feed milling cutter Slotworx VF by Pokolm, the new ArCut X tool from Fraisa and the WORKNC 2020.0 software by Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence.

Pokolm’s multifunction high feed milling cutter Slotworx VF

The highly efficient milling cutter Slotworx VF is used for surface finishes and is available in 2 and 7 flutes, as more flutes ensure higher feed rates. With diameter range of 16 to 42 mm, the cutter ensures that the machining process is carried out with ease. The high feed milling cutter Slotworx VF is also obtainable as a screw-on type or Duoplug cutter.

Fraisa’s ArCut X tool

The new ArCut X is a conical end mill which comprises of a curved surface area with a radius of curvature of up to 1,000 mm. With the assistance of the curvature, one can obtain highly precise surfaces which also help to reduce the polishing time. The ArCut X tool can be used across industries such as automotive and aviation. It can also be used for production of tire molds and turbine blades as well as impellers. Some of the most noteworthy advantages of this new tool include longer tool life, short production times, optimum surfaces, top productivity and its usage across a wide range of applications.

WORKNC 2020.0 by Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence

The latest version of the WORKNC software – WORKNC 2020.0 has been released by Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s Production Software business. With an aim to increase machining productivity for WORKNC customers, the company has expanded its exclusive Advanced Toolform technology with the introduction of 5-axis machining for any tool shape. This means that 5-axis tool shapes including barrels, ovals, parabolic, or any given shape, to be calculated over the part surfaces, comprising negative offsets (allowances) are allowed by the software. In addition to this, the newly released software is capable of machining multiple surfaces at the same time.

The Wall Machining toolpath also gets a boost by including the Spiral patterns and 2D toolpath compensation. Sharp edges are now protected by a corner smoothing radius and retracts have been optimised to increase productivity and reduce machining time.

The software will prove beneficial for customers that are always on the lookout for performance improvements, especially on the Waveform roughing toolpath, on Holder and 5-axis Machine Collision checking, and 3D Stock initialisation.
