With the business area Gerster Techtex, the firm is putting the focus on technological textiles. In this context, the firm lays special emphasis on reinforcement materials for the composites market. A further area of application is in auxiliary and working materials based on narrow textiles, used in industry to obtain higher efficiencies.

The product palette comprises standard and special structures in glass, aramid and carbon as well as synthetic yarns, for example PES fibres. Above all, Gerster has specialised in working out and producing special applications and structures.

The spiral textile, for example, provides individual reinforcement for round components, since diameter and material can be adapted specifically. The spiral tape consists of a woven basic structure and, if desired, is manufactured with a binding. Textile heating surfaces provide simple and flexible warming of forms and materials. A particularly suitable heating medium is carbon fibre.
