Product showcase Okuma at CIMES 2018
The Japanese company highlights two innovations from its product line – the 2SP-2500H CNC Lathe and the 2-Saddle CNC Lathe Simul Turn LU7000 EX for the benefit of its users.
This year, Okuma Corporation will be displaying its products at the China International Machine Tool & Tools Exhibition (CIMES) that will open its doors to the public from June 26, 2018 in China. As the name suggests, the five day event will focus on the latest innovations in the manufacturing industry. Two of the latest technologies by Okuma are the 2SP-2500H CNC Lathe and the 2-Saddle CNC Lathe Simul Turn LU7000 EX.
2SP-2500H CNC Lathe
Equipped with front-facing twin spindles, the 2SP-2500H CNC lathe offers enhanced productivity, reliability, accuracy as well as efficiency for auto parts and other mass production applications. It is the smallest in its class (2,200 mm) and is ideally suited for automotive parts up to ø250 mm. Further, the tool life duration can be predicted and cutting edge breakage can be prevented by using the Tool Life Calculator, an Okuma suite app. The lathe also offers a visual tool called the ‘Maintenace suite’ for key maintenance activities in order to reduce downtimes.
2-Saddle CNC Lathe Simul Turn LU7000 EX
The firm has also come up with the Simul Turn LU7000EX, a large 2-saddle CNC lathe which proves useful for the heavy industry to cut large as well as difficult parts.
Capable of handling super-large diameter as well as long parts with a maximum turning diameter of ø900 mm and a spindle bore diameter of ø560 mm (Optional), the 2-saddle CNC lathe boasts of a large work envelope. The product enables users to ensure high productivity and continuous turning with upper and lower turrets. Capable of achieving a turning capacity of 10 sq mm, the high torque spindle can easily be appointed for heavy-duty cutting.
Different users have different requirements for their workpieces. Hence, to meet these diverse demands, the company offers four main spindles from a bore diameter of ø200 mm and spindle speed of 1,500 min-1 to ø560 mm and 350 min-1. Innovative production is achieved with a rich array of applications, including simultaneous machining with upper and lower turrets, a long boring bar attached to the upper turret, and a follower rest mounted on the lower turret.
Okuma is not only known as one of the oldest Japanese companies but also as one of the leading players in the machine tool sector. With its innovative line up of products, the firm will surely be able to impress at CIMES 2018.
