Specialization Moulding Area at METAV
METAV’s ‘Moulding Area’ will showcase the requirements that apply during the moulding process, and how problems can be solved with the assistance of innovative production technologies.

The die and mould industry is one of the most important segments for the industrial manufacturing sector. It caters to a range of sectors such as auto components, automobiles, industrial machinery, defence, railways, medical equipment, and more. The standards of precision and quality involved in the segment are extremely high, which encourages innovation in this area.
Countries that are booming with the production of automobiles and infrastructure know the importance of high quality parts that are produced from the die and mould industry. Moulding is an important element in metalworking. In today’s competitive world, producing high quality products is of utmost importance in order to ensure one’s position in the market. Hence, it becomes all the more important to achieve high levels of mould making and this can be achieved by making use of high-quality solutions from production technology.
Core area at METAV
This is the reason behind METAV 2018 presenting the ‘Moulding Area’ as one of its four focus areas at the international metalworking technologies show. The show focuses on core topics such as machine tools, manufacturing systems, precision tools, automated material flow, computer technology, industrial electronics, parts and accessories, etc. METAV 2018 will also be showcasing three other areas – quality, additive manufacturing, and medical. The exhibition will also concentrate on the entire value added chain of toolmaking and mould making under one roof. The show brings together manufacturers of machine tools and precision tools that are important for the industrial manufacturing industry.
The Moulding Area will showcase the requirements that apply during the moulding process, and how problems can be solved with the assistance of innovative production technologies. The dedicated space will also display new process technologies, such as laser-based manufacturing for fine texturing of design surfaces.
In addition to this, numerous moulding applications pose high demands for industrial design. Hence, in the Moulding Area, the german industrial designers’ association VDID will offer trade visitors important approaches for their designs. The other partners for this area are the specialist department for toolmaking in the Precision Tools Association of the VDMA and the German Association of Model and Mould Manufacturers.
The Moulding Area will surely educate and also help the visitors to stay updated on the latest happenings in this vital segment.
