“In the future, there will be no female leaders. There will just be leaders,” quotes Sheryl Sandberg in her book ‘Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead’. This is very true in today’s global industry. If two women meet, they are bound to talk endlessly but what happens when around 1,400 women are present at one venue to discuss business? Innovative ideas, challenging solutions and tonnes of inspiration fill the ambience. This is exactly what happened at ‘WoMenPower 2019’, one of the recently held special sessions at Hannover Messe. The two day session which began from April 04, 2019 was the perfect platform for business women to network and discuss matters regarding their professional fields, success strategies and unique working models.

Let’s get loud – Women in Industry! Empower. Create. Succeed

The session’s motto ‘Let’s get loud – Women in Industry! Empower. Create. Succeed’ showcased the spirit of the event. With over 40 workshops and 60 plus speakers, the women-centric show was a big success.

Day one witnessed the ‘Women Tec Day’ conference where managers, high potentials and senior professionals discussed diverse subjects such as female leadership, transformation & change, extending skills as well as expertise. Held in German, the conference was held in the Convention area hall 19/20, Rooom New York where 46 power packed presentations were shown in addition to the 72 speakers that shared insightful views on numerous transformational topics. Post this session, a ‘WomenPower Networking Night’ was held to lighten the mood. The show was an opportunity to meet and interact with industry colleagues and friends.

The second day of ‘WoMenPower 2019’ was titled ‘Women Career Day’ and focussed on emerging new-age professionals. Subjects such as career planning, live training sessions, work-life balance, parental leave, career planning focusing on life phases, professional skills, starting a career and personal development were discussed at this event.

Engineer Powerwoman Award

To felicitate women leaders from the technical field, the organisers Deutsche Messe also gave away the prestigious ‘Engineer Powerwoman Award’ for the seventh time in a row. The winner of this year’s award is Kenza Ait Si Abbou Lyadini. She currently works as a Senior Manager in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at Deutsche Telekom. The robotics expert received the award for her dedication towards mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT). Occupying second and third positions are Maria Belleth, Business Process Lead - Data Acquisition and Automation at Baker Hughes; and Elena Fersman, Research Director AI from Ericsson respectively.

Recognising women for their hard work in the industry has won the hearts of global players from across the globe. Segments such as these have made Hannover Messe 2019 a huge success.
