Event special Mexico – Hannover Messe’s partner country
Hannover Messe 2018 has collaborated with Mexico to become the event’s partner country for this year. The country will be offering innovative technologies and business opportunities in order to expand its international trade relations.

Every year, the German-based show Hannover Messe partners with a country to showcase their new technological innovations and investment opportunities to prominent industry leaders across the globe. This year the massive event has associated with Mexico as its partner country. The show, one of the largest trade fairs for industrial technology in the world will be held from April 23–27, 2018 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds in Hanover, Germany. The theme for this year is ‘Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate’ and the exhibition grounds are divided into five core events – integrated automation, motion and drives, digital factory,energy; industrial supplyand research and technology.

Exhibitors from the partner country will be addressing vital subjects such as Industry 4.0, energy, environmental technology, vocational training, startups and foreign investment. Mexico aims to use the mammoth platform to strengthen and expand its international trade relations as well as enhance its efforts to secure a free trade agreement with the European Union.
Germany and Mexico have a long business history together, this is evident from the fact that Germany is Mexico’s most important trading partner in Europe i.e. 5th worldwide as well as it is the 4th largest European investor (6th globally) in Mexico. On the other hand, Mexico is Germany’s biggest export destination in Latin America and Germany’s exports to Mexico increased by 24% to 11.09 billion dollars from 2014 to 2015.
Mexican – German business summit
The Mexican – German business bummit is scheduled to be held on April 23, 2018 at the Convention Center in room 2. The Summit intends to bring together high-profile decision makers from the government and business sectors in order to network and collaborate on the potential opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation. In addition to this, innovative projects and ideas will also be discussed to encourage entrepreneurs. The summit is being organised by BDI and co-organised by Deutsche Messe at Hannover Messe with the aim of promoting economic ties between the two countries.

Background about Mexico
Mexico is the world’s 13th largest exporting nation and its 12th largest importing nation. The country is best known for manufacturing automobile and automotive parts. In 2016, the country’s automobile and automotive subcontracting industries exported 3.46 million vehicles! Therefore, it is no surprise that Mexico is the world’s fourth largest exporter in the automobile sector. Some of the other industrial sectors that the country caters to are electrical engineering, oil, aerospace and chemicals. The country has also maintained close economic ties with the USA and this is evident through the fact that about 80%of Mexico’s foreign trade comes from North America.
Hannover Messe 2018 will open up business opportunities for numerous players across the industry and Mexico will be keen to explore and tap these potential prospects at the fair.
