Additive manufacturing: The way ahead
New innovation – DMP Factory 500
Recently, the company together with Georg Fischer’s Division introduced the DMP Factory 500. The scalable manufacturing system is capable of transforming metal manufacturing through simplified workflows. This process ensures that high quality seamless metal parts up to 500 mm x 500 mm x 500 mm are produced while the cost of operations are reduced.
The DMP Factory 500 comprises of five main function-specific modules namely the Removable Print Module which is a sealed module and is used for powder and part transport between the printer, powder, and transport modules which feature a vacuum chamber to ensure the lowest O2 content enabling high quality 3D printed metal parts; the Printer Module which makes sure that production time is not affected due to continuous usage of the system; the Powder Management Module is equipped to efficiently de-powder parts on build platforms, automatically recycle unused powder materials, and prepare the RPM for the next build; the Transport Module takes care that there is efficient movement of the RPMs between printer and powder modules and hence production time is reduced; and the Parking Module which offers interim storage of RPMs in an inert environment until ready for further progression in the workflow.
