For more than 35 years now, the SSV Software Systems GmbH has been developing and producing microcomputer modules, component assemblies and systems for demanding communications tasks and is now presenting at the Hannover Messe the compact IGW/941 Edge Gateway, equipped with pre-installed ML algorithms (ML: Machine Learning) and data science building blocks and designed for industrial applications.
With this module, it is for example possible to collect sensor data, transform it into information by classification or regression, and transfer the results by OPC UA or MQTT. Pre-configured development tools for the ML training phase and model construction are included as standard.
Gateways of this kind are an answer to the development which has made data the raw material of the 21st century. Data is now generated permanently in every machine and in every process, and can be transformed into information using suitable hardware, software and ML functions. This enables the development of predictive service and maintenance concepts (Predictive Maintenance), quality improvements (Predictive Quality), raised productivity (Predictive Efficiency) and ML-based anomaly detection.
