Setting new benchmarks by innovating products that increase production and efficiency provides a great deal of satisfaction and KUKA would be experiencing just this. Known as one of the leading robotic suppliers across the globe, the company has recently introduced two new innovative robots – the flexible LBR iisy and the mobile home robot ‘i-do’.

KUKA's LBR iisy

KUKA’s all new cobot – the smart and extremely flexible LBR iisy is the latest addition to the company’s product line up. Weighing 18,8 kg, offering a reach of 600 mm along with a payload of 3 kg, the six–axis cobot proves to be the ideal machine in unstructured work spaces and can be used for loading or unloading machines, packaging, precise testing, reliable assembly, handling or difficult research tasks. It can also be adapted immediately to any manufacturing requirement and you can also produce the smallest of batches in a short period of time.

The lightweight LBR iisy has been developed with the assistance of a contemporary operating concept through which it can be quickly set up and begin production with increased precision and speed. The lightweight cobot also has low procurement costs but still boasts of high-grade joint torque sensors. Supporting all the leading industry-standard functions such as OPC UA, field bus protocols, digital and analog I/Os, the user-friendly cobot works safely and sensitively with humans.

Exploring the human-robot collaboration further, once the LBR iisy cobot has been programmed it can also transfer its work processes to other LBR iisy cobots in a short period of time.

‘i-do’ home robot

The idea of having a robot at home that can help with household chores has fascinated many people for years. KUKA has now made this vision reality as it recently introduced the mobile ‘i-do’ home robot that is capable of doing different tasks around the house. A few of the striking actions that the robot performs is clicking photographs and carrying your coffee.

By the launch of this user-friendly and smart robot, the industry is showcasing to the world that it is constantly achieving and breaking new barriers in today’s intelligent automation scenario.

With contemporary concepts such as artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0 and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) on the rise, we will get to witness more of such technologies that will leave us amazed by their speedy and precise automated functions.
