Sheet Metal Forming Italy: Lamiera Heads to a Record Number of Exhibitors

Expectation is growing for the debut in Milan of Lamiera, the international biennial exhibition dedicated to the metal forming machine tool industry and to all innovative technologies related to the sector: it will be on stage at fieramilano Rho from 17 to 20 May 2017.

By comparing the number of applications for exhibiting, collected by the deadline (30 November 2016) for the presentation of the application forms, the 2017 edition of Lamiera definitely surpassed the previous one, reporting a 50% increase. Besides the confirmations of usual exhibitors, there are numerous new exhibitors, many of them coming from abroad directly.

Milan and the odd years are thus proving to be a choice appreciated by the operators of the sector; actually, they have replied to the organisers' call largely in advance, by booking spaces, within the two halls reserved for the event, much before the deadline.

As usual, the collection of applications continues after the deadline and the trend registered by the organisation office in the month of December is very positive, as a testimony to the interest shown in the event by the public.

New exhibition areas

The spotlight will be on: sheet metal forming machines, bar, tube and section working machines, presses, blanking and punching machines, laser, robots, automation, moulds and dies, heat treatments, surface-finishing and treatment, wires and metal carpentry, subcontracting, but not only this.

To complete the trade fair promoted by "Ucimu-sistemi per produrre" and organised by "Ceu-centro esposizioni Ucimu" there will also be new exhibition areas focused on products and solutions related to metal forming technologies. It is the case of Fastener Industry that will show the best product ranges with regard to screws, bolts, fastening and clamping systems; Blech Italy Service will be centred on technical subcontracting and services for the industry and Ecocoatech, a space organised in cooperation with Anver, Italian Association of Industrial Coaters, will present all the most innovative inter-operational processes for sheet metal painting and coating.

The comprehensive and varied product offering on show will attract operators from every part of the world. The networking between exhibitors and visitors will be also encouraged through the initiative, promoted by the Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and ICE-Italian Trade Agency. This project consists in inviting delegations of foreign operators coming from the most dynamic and promising markets, such as: Algeria, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Germany, India, Iran, Morocco, Mexico, Poland, Russia and Serbia.

Platform for industrial design

In keeping with tradition, Lamiera will propose an in-depth, structured itinerary, regarding the issues that may be of interest for the operators of the sector, included in the list of conferences and meetings of Accademia Lambda.

Pianeta Giovani Lavoro will be an area dedicated to the meeting between demand and supply of work, where young students, visiting the exhibition, will be able to get information about the actual possibilities offered by the enterprises of the sector. The area will be created in cooperation with Randstad and Ecole.

In addition, for its first edition in the capital city of design, Lamiera proposes "Lamiera Living", which will show a selection of design objects that won the prestigious "ADI Compasso d'oro" international Award and were made with metal forming machines and technologies. The initiative is carried out in cooperation with the Lombard delegation of ADI, Italian Association for Industrial Design.
