Automation Expo, the largest automation & instrumentation exhibition of South-East Asia was held from Aug 9-12, 2017 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. The mega event was inaugurated by B Narayan, Group President (Procurement & Projects), Reliance Industries. The show attracted a record number of exhibitors with over 900 companies from over two dozen countries participating at the event.
The exhibition was spread across an area of 23,000 sq m and displayed numerous products and innovations from global leaders in the field of Process Automation & Control Systems, Factory Automation, Industrial Automation, Field Instrumentation, Smart Sensors & Controllers, Robotics & Machine Automation, Motors & Drives, Software Solutions, Bus Technologies, Wireless Technologies, Building Automation, Automation in Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Automation in Renewable Energy and Safety & Security Systems, etc.
Background
The show is supported by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, and a host of other bodies. Under the valiant leadership of M Arokiaswamy, IED Communications, the Automation Expo has been achieving its objective to fuel innovation and growth for the last 14 years now.
The automation exhibition was rolled-out on a biennial frequency beginning in the year 2002, but since 2011, this has become an annual event. Today, it is an ideal platform for the Indian and global automation industry to converge and showcase cutting-edge technologies, advancements, systems and services.
Arokiaswamy, the brain behind this mega exhibition says, “Our journey since 2006 has been a highly successful one considering the participation of global players in the event. Today, there is a pressing need for every industry in India to acquire technology based on automation in order to participate in the global competition.”
