"Calling all industrial technologies to report immediately to Hannover!"

This would probably be a prominent dialogue if Hannover Messe — the world’s biggest show for industrial technology — was made into a movie with dedicated characters. Rightly called as the ‘Home of Industrial Pioneers’ Hannover Messe, organised by Deutsche Messe will welcome industry players from across the globe. Scheduled to be held from April 01–05, 2019 in Hannover, Germany, the trade show has already registered 6,500 exhibitors from 75 nations and is expecting a massive footfall of over 210,000 visitors from 98 countries.

The lead theme for this year’s edition is ‘Integrated Industry – Industrial Intelligence’ which focuses on digital networking between humans and machines in the age of artificial intelligence. Hannover Messe will showcase numerous innovative technologies and the event is broadly divided into six core exhibit sectors: Integrated Automation, Motion and Drives (automation, power transmission, motion control and fluid technology); Digital Factory (software and IT for production); Integrated Energy (conventional and renewable energy systems); Industrial Supply (subcontractors and lightweight design); ComVac (compressed air and vacuum technology) and Research & Technology (applied research and technology transfer).

The show will also highlight diverse segments trending in the industry such as machine learning, robotics, digitalisation, IT security, sector coupling in the energy industry, supply chain management, lightweight design and e-mobility. In addition to this, the gigantic event will also host more than 80 forums and conferences focusing on major trends and topics of the industry. This year, a fresh addition has been made to the existing list of conferences – the ‘Industrial Pioneers’ Summit. This Summit is expected to be held on April 02, 2019 and is keen to bring industry leaders and innovators from numerous fields under one roof to discuss strategies and scenarios for the future of the industry, business and society.

Sweden – Partner Country

Like every other year, Hannover Messe selects a Partner Country in order to promote foreign trade and for this edition the chosen country is Sweden The European country’s Prime Minister H.E. Stefan Löfven is expected to inaugurate the ‘Sweden Pavilion’ which will showcase interesting technologies, research projects and even investment opportunities to the global audience present at the fair.

The Partner Country will highlight itself as a lab for co-creation (CO) and innovation (LAB) — an open and strong collaborative partner committed to innovation — Sweden CO-LAB. The national pavilion: The Swedish Co-Lab Digital Factory will display a digital journey through Sweden’s state-of-the-art smart industry solutions.

Sweden will set up its central pavilion in Hall 27 while its other technology pavilions will be situated in different zones at the event. Around 40 highly relevant Swedish start-ups and scale-ups will also attend Hannover Messe.

Hermes award

This popular award holds significant value in the eyes of the industry. The Hermes prize is awarded to outstanding products, innovations and solutions that are displayed for the first time at the trade fair. Usually, the jury shortlists three nominees for the award and then interacts with them to determine the winner. The winner as well as the nominees is felicitated at the opening ceremony of Hannover Messe. Following this, the innovations of all the three companies will be displayed in Hall 2 at the Research & Technology segment on all the days of the mega show. This year, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reimund Neugebauer, President of the Fraunhofer Society has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Hermes Award jury and will be responsible for spearheading the jury.

Hannover Messe 2019 with its many segments is sure to leave one asking for more.
