Hannover Messe 2018: A grand success!
The show offered many impressing technologies of different exhibiting companies for visitors to explore. Many of them are making waves from the show:
KUKA was the show stopper at the fair as it unveiled its contemporary LBR iisy cobot. Lightweight and efficient, the cobot is capable of loading or unloading machines, packaging, precise testing, reliable assembly, handling or difficult research tasks. The six-axis LBR iisy cobot can be integrated into any existing industrial surrounding with ease and comprises high-grade joint torque sensors.
Another interesting creation was SCHUNK’s EGP-C Co-act gripper. Capable of gripping and moving small and medium-sized workpieces with flexible force in assembly electronics and machine tool loading, the electric 2-finger parallel gripper is certified for collaborative operations. The gripper also offers a robot interface for quick and convenient integration and can also be installed on cobots from KUKA, FANUC and Universal Robots under the ‘Plug & Work’ model.
The Epson SCARA T3 Series is the latest addition to the company’s product line up. The four-axis robot is highly accurate and can be used for pick-and-place applications, part feeding, positioning and inspection tasks as well as assembly tasks. Equipped to handle payloads up to 3 kg and a standard cycle time of 0.54 seconds, the new series can be used in the automotive, electrical and electronics and medical sectors. It also supports image-processing, integration of external software and the option to design a custom user interface.
There were many other solutions that set the benchmark in their respective fields.
With an impressive footfall of 210,000 trade visitors and 5,000 plus exhibitors including the participation of 75 participating countries, the event was a huge success! The show certainly lived up to its theme of ‘Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate’.
