International Series Gulf countries benefit with wide range of trade fairs
The history of the smaller countries in the Persian Gulf as trade centres also reflects in a great variety of trade fairs. Industrial enterprises find a number of events here with interesting areas of focus.

Two major trade fairs from Germany have already joined forces for the metal industry. The trade fair organising companies Düsseldorf and Essen along with Al Fajer Information & Services stand behind the parallel events of Metal Middle East, Tube Arabia and Arabia Essen Welding & Cutting since the first combined focus from 10th to 13th January 2015.
German technology-leading trade fairs serve as role models
The three events are said to take place once again combined in January 2017 in Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates, whereby the exact date is not yet fixed according to the information by Messe Düsseldorf. The three trade fairs follow their German role models: At the Tube Arabia everything focuses on tubes, right from the raw materials to new and second-hand machines for manufacturing tubes, process technology, tools, measurement technology, control technology, test engineering up to tube trading. At the Arabia Essen Welding & Cutting, the name says it all: Machines and equipment for cutting, joining, surface treatment, thermal spraying, heat treatment, CAD/CAM-systems, consumables for welding, work and safety equipment, quality assurance, measurement technology and test engineering as well as industrial services are on display.
The four trade fairs of Düsseldorf- Gifa, Metec, Thermoprocess and Newcast are ideal for the current orientation of the Metal Middle East, which cover the areas of metallurgy, thermo-process technology, foundry machinery and equipment, semi-finished and finished products as well as metalworking, industrial machinery and tools.
According to the event organiser, in January 2015, total 176 exhibitors from 21 countries took part in the fifth Tube Arabia, the second Arabia Essen Welding & Cutting and the recently acquired Metal Middle East. Together they could attract 3541 industry visitors.
Reed organises “Aluminium” in Persian Gulf
The trade fair-trio faces competition by the Steel Fab in Sharjah, which too belongs to the UAE. The organiser of Expo Centre Sharjah hosts the event annually. The key aspects are the machining and reshaping metalworking, coatings technologies, welding and cutting, equipment for the manufacturing tubes as well as additional tools. According to the data of exhibition and trade fair committee of the German industry e.V. (Auma), 8176 industry visitors came to the 376 exhibitors at the trade fair from 17th to 20thJanuary 2016. Information about the exhibition grounds is not available. In 2015 there were 10,324 industry visitors in addition and 350 exhibitors. The next date for SteelFab is from 16th to 19thJanuary 2017.
The event organiser, Reed Exhibitions is concentrating entirely on material with the Aluminium Middle East. Even this trade fair covers the entire supply chain, right from manufacturing raw material to the further processing up to end products. It takes place every two years in Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. At the edition from 14th to 16th April 2015, almost 4000 people visited the 173 exhibitors, who showcased their innovations on a net area of 3000 m². The next Aluminium Middle East will take place from 15th to 17th May 2017.
The Middle East Coatings Show is organised each year especially for the coatings technologies. The organiser, DMG Events Middle East reported that there were more than 300 exhibitors and over 5000 visitors for the trade fair from 14th to 16th March 2016 in Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The next edition is planned from 13th to 15th March 2017.
