Approx. 1,400 exhibitors from thirty countries will be on hand at the Intec and Z 2017 to present their complex range of products, technologies and services on an area spanning 70,000 sq. m. "The trade fair duo Intec and Z thus builds on the great success of the prior event. Leipzig will become the key venue of the metal processing and supply industry in March of this year, the capabilities of which are impressively echoed by the two trade fairs," says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of the Leipziger Messe, in explaining the extraordinary appeal of the Intec and Z.

Innovative new products from the fields of machine tools, precision tools for metal working, automation technology for production as well as industrial supplies and support services for manufacturing form the focus of both industrial trade fairs for four days. Managing Director Markus Geisenberger: "Visitors can look forward to diverse range of exciting technologies and innovations that form the entire process and customer chain in production and which makes a visit to the Intec and Z very worthwhile."

Well-known exhibitors from Germany and abroad

Important market leaders of the machine tool industry and renowned suppliers of precision tools from Germany and abroad such as Yamazaki Mazak, DMG MORI, the TRUMPF Group, the Hommel Group, Maschinenfabrik Berthold Hermle, SCHUNK, Paul Horn, ISCAR, EMUGE, MAPAL and Ingersoll Werkzeuge will be participating in the upcoming Intec. Companies like NICOLÁS CORREA from Spain, HWACHEON Machinery Europe from Korea, BLM SPA from Italy and SAMAG Saalfelder Werkzeugmaschinen from Germany will be on hand in Leipzig for the first time as exhibitors. The core areas of the impending Intec also include machine tools, other processing machinery, precision tools and appliances. All major German machine manufacturing centers are also well represented. For instance, the majority of Intec exhibitors come from Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, North Rhine Westphalia and Bavaria. Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Czech Republic make up the largest international participants at the Intec 2017.

German and international suppliers will demonstrate their capabilities and innovativeness as partners of final producers and system suppliers at the Z 2017. The Z - Subcontracting Fair is well equipment with exhibitors who meet the demand for high quality parts and components that are made of metals, plastics and innovative materials in accordance with customer requirements. The Z's portfolio is enriched by sophisticated services for the industry – that includes, for instance, surface finishers, who hope for a good customer response, especially from the automobile industry, to their advanced processes ranging from coating through to nanotechnologies.

Traditionally, the Z possesses a high level of internationality with foreign companies accounting on average for 30 percent of all exhibitors. The countries with the largest number of exhibitors participating in the Z 2017 are, following Germany, Italy, Poland and Czech Republic. New exhibitors from abroad, for instance, from Great Britain and Scandinavia, further underline the international flair of the Z.

Multifaceted product range

At the Intec 2017, the machine tool sector is represented with a series of technical innovations and optimizations. For instance, HEDELIUS is bringing its new, compact and precise 5-axis machining center line ACURA for die and mold construction to Leipzig. INDEX-Werke are presenting the second generation of the INDEX G200, which features improvements in machine setup with extended turning length and an additional tool holder through to the performance of milling spindle. With the optimized turn/mill center, a simultaneous machining is possible at the same time with up to four tools. Even the newest CNC machining center from Maschinenfabrik Berthold Hermle, C 250, will attract the attention of trade visitors.

Production automation under aspects of Industry 4.0 is also reflected in the offerings of Intec exhibitors. SCHUNK will present the electrically controlled linear axis SCHUNK ELP of Industry-4.0 quality, which is an ultra-compact linear module characterized by a low maintenance 24V linear direct drive and low start-up costs. CytroPac from Bosch Rexroth proves what modern hydraulic solutions can do with little space. The new compact unit decreases energy consumption by up to 80% thanks to regulating its speed to suit requirements, monitors all operating states and fits in well in Industry 4.0 concepts. Festo will also be present with an entire range of Industry 4.0-capable applications – for instance, its adaptive gripper units, software tools for assembly and handling processes or intuitive control systems.

Innovative suppliers as sought-after partners

At the parallel event Z, trade visitors will find, among other things, innovations made in the plastics processing and mold construction industry: For instance, they will be able to examine at the stand of PSG Plastic Service the new profiTEMP+ hot runner controller, which features advantages like compact size, advanced functions and easy operation based on touchscreen control. HASCO will present its new P1 panels which are machined on all sides to ensure that mold constructors have maximum flexibility and efficiency for the production of injection mold tools. The laser specialist bkl-lasertechnik has developed a process for achieving high gloss finishes with foam injection molding technology. The material-saving development will be presented at the Z. But that is not everything: At Rapidobject's stand, visitors can see 3D printed models constructed by means of additive manufacturing with plastic, metal or polymer plaster.

Specialized program on forward-looking topics relating to the industry

Besides the extensive offering of exhibitors, the Intec and Z 2017 also offer the integrated specialized program of supporting events. Industry-related topics that play a decisive role for the future of industrial production are discussed within the framework of conferences, seminars and workshops.

On top of that, there is also the special exhibit with integrated symposium on "Intelligent Light-weight Construction" that highlights on all four days the current state of development for industrial applications in Hall 5. The "Additive Manufacturing" Technology Forum will provide information about technologies, applications and potential offered by the innovative processes and areas of applications in Hall 2. On March 8 and 9, experts will be on hand to provide an in-depth look at the possibilities of additive manufacturing during the course of a symposium. The Exhibitor Forum, which also takes place in Hall 2 during the trade fairs, will include practical sessions and project presentations spanning all topics and areas covered by the Intec and Z. At the Lean Factory Training Center in Hall 4, specialists can gain insight into a holistically minded production process based completely on lean principles. A variety of products will be manufactured live on site with a mixed model assembly line. Also in Hall 4 will be the workshop on "Joining Technologies for Plastic and Metal Components" on March 7, the CONTACT Business Meetings on March 8, the 3rd Saxony Automation Day on March 9 and the Students Day with job fair on March10.

The "Strategy Workshop: Industry of the Future" conference will be held on March 7 at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL), which is conveniently located right new to the exhibition center. The 5th Conference on "Resource-efficient Production" will address the current progress made in production technologies based on the theme "Value Added Digital Factory" on March 8. The 24th Specialized Seminar of the German Association for Electroplating and Surface Engineering, taking place on March 9 and many other international seminars and programs to help up-and-coming professionals complete the specialized program.
