Event preview Formnext 2018: Global platform for the additive manufacturing industry
The trade show will display the latest innovations in the additive manufacturing sector and also demonstrate the wonders of product development when traditional tool making and additive technologies are combined.

The global manufacturing industry has transformed with time and is now incorporating enhanced contemporary solutions to meet the challenging demands of the sector. It is in this scenario that trade fairs such as Formnext enable industry players to stay updated on the latest cutting-edge solutions. Held every year, the international exhibition and conference for the next generation of manufacturing technologies is scheduled to be held from November 13–16, 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Ground report
According to the organiser, Mesago Messe Frankfurt the number of exhibitors has grown by 50 % as compared to the same period last year (as of 15 March 2018). Recent reports state that the show expects 550 exhibitors to participate at the show out of which 165 are new exhibitors from 26 nations. This shows the level of innovation that is taking place around the world in this field. It also provides an insight into the numerous industries looking to adopt 3D printing i.e. additive manufacturing in their processes.
TCT conference
Apart from the display of specialised and tech-savvy innovations, Formnext also offers interesting lectures and presentations to enable networking and guide new career opportunities. For instance, the show’s TCT conference has invited leading industry players to speak about diverse industry subjects such as ‘Additive Manufacturing on the Road - Journey from Prototyping to Production’, ‘Disruptive Fuselage Study by Topological Optimisation and Additive Manufacturing’, ‘Additive Manufacturing on the Rise – a Business Perspective on Automotive Applications’, ‘Implementing AM in the Automotive Sector’, and other such related topics. An exciting session on 3Dprinting called ‘Discover3Dprinting’ will also be hosted at the venue to offer an in-depth view about the additive manufacturing concept and its many benefits.
