A cutting-ring assembly machine with a new mounting head enables processing of piping with very small bending radii.
Using the new mounting head, pipes with diameters between 6 and 16 mm can be processed using the light range, diameters between 6 and 18 mm with the heavy range.

Four years ago, Stauff brought the SPR-PRC-POC cutting-ring assembly machine onto the market: a compact, versatile table-top device for machine-assisted preliminary and final assembly of cutting rings. This machine will become even more versatile, we hear, with the mounting head being presented for the first time at the Hannover Messe: piping with very small bending radii can now be processed, we hear.
Compared to the standard model of this mounting head, the receptacle for the cutting-ring mounting supports has been moved higher. As a result, the distance from the pipe axis in the mounting supports to the upper edge of the machine has been reduced from 77 to 31 mm. This means, Stauff tells us, that cutting rings can easily be mounted on pipes with small axis separations.
Using this mounting head, pipes with diameters between 6 and 16 mm can be processed with the light range, diameters between 6 and 18 mm with the heavy range. Existing assembly tools can be used. This mounting head can be retrofitted on machines of this type.
This development originated, according to Stauff, after contact with an agricultural machine manufacturer. Other target groups are makers of hydraulic clamping equipment or pipe confectioners.
