Hannover Messe 2019 Filter components celebrate world première

This year, Elsässer Filtertechnik is for the first time exhibiting its own patented products. These include a new air/oil separator box and a high pressure filter.

On 50 m2 floor space, the filter technology supplier Elsässer will display its entire know-how in services and products. Besides offering a range of filters by partners Mann + Hummel, Filtrec, Sotras, Donaldson and FIL Filter, Elsässer is truly entering new land this year: the first time, the firm is presenting to the specialist public its own patented products.

“With our know-how and experience from 40 successful years as a leading filter specialist, we have now succeeded in developing innovative products for diverse filtration applications,” explains CEO Peter Wink. “The market can look forward to the world premières which we will be celebrating with the public for the first time in Hannover.”

Air/oil separator box reduces energy costs

The display includes a new solutional approach for air/oil separator boxes. While the through-flow in filter elements in conventional installations is from outside to inside, the flow in Elsässer’s product is in the opposite direction. At the same time, the medium – consisting of several layers – is no longer wrapped, but folded.

According to the supplier, the new box features the following advantages:

• Reduction of pressure loss and therefore lower energy costs

• Longer service lifetime and therefore less waste disposal

• A low residual oil content of less than 3 mg/min over a wide range of volumes

The new air/oil separator box is compatible with existing interfaces on the compressor or vacuum pump, and can replace the conventional boxes. Elsässer’s device covers air intake volumes of up to 5.5 m3/min at a compressor overpressure of 7 bar.

High pressure filter allows quick fitting

In addition, Elsässer presents in Hannover a new high pressure filter capable of working at up to 420 and a through-flow of 150 l/min. The filter specialist offers a range of filter finenesses down to 5 µm, making the product suitable for all hydraulic filtration tasks in construction and agricultural machines as well as in industrial trucks and applications.

The heart of the high pressure filter is a patented filter element which allows a very simple geometrical shape for the housing and filter head. Other central advantages are the small overhead clearance needed as a result of the positively locating filter element, past fitting and removal, and an especially low pressure lost due to optimised flow patterns in the head and housing.
