Event preview Exhibiting high tech solutions for medical technology at Compamed 2019

Compamed is a global event which brings product developers and suppliers from the medical industry on a common platform. About 800 exhibitors from 40 different countries will be displaying their most recent solutions at the show.

Compamed, one of the major global events for the medical technology industry is back once again. Scheduled to be held from November 18 – 21, 2019 at the Düsseldorf trade fair centre (Halls 8a and 8b) in Düsseldorf, Germany, the show acts as a platform for product developers and suppliers from the medical industry to interact with each other and also get acquainted with the recent happenings in the medical sector.

About 800 exhibitors from almost 40 different countries are expected to showcase their latest technologies and innovations at the trade fair. This includes participation from renowned large companies along with small and middle-sized firms. Concurrently held with Medica, the world’s biggest medical trade fair, Compamed also enables industry players to establish new business contacts and strengthen existing ones.

The medical technology show will exhibit a range of products and solutions including components for medical technology (electronics, components, hoses, filters, pumps, and valves, among other items), materials/ substances, micro- and nanotechnology, made-to-order manufacturing, electronic manufacturing services (EMS), complex manufacturing and equipment partnerships (e.g. OEM – Original Equipment Manufacturers) as well as packaging and services. Visitors at the trade fair mainly comprise of technical buyers, specialists in research, development and packaging, production managers, construction engineers and process engineers.

Micro technology

Micro technology is considered to be one of the most important target markets in Europe. This can be seen at the expo too as the show will witness over 50 participating parties from this zone and will occupy the biggest joint stand at the show. The segment will focus on innovations in the micro technology, nanotechnology, photonic and new material key sectors.

Expert Forums

The Compamed High-Tech Forum in Hall 8a is presented by the IVAM Microtechnology Network and will focus on microsystem technology, nanotechnology and production technology and process control. The first day of the forum will begin by a session on diverse innovations from the Netherlands. The next day, the forum will host three presentations on the medical technology market in Japan and the interest of Japanese companies in the European medical technology market.

Apart from this, some of the other topics that will be discussed at the venue include ‘Printed Electronics and 3D-Printing’, ‘Laser and Photonics Applications’, ‘Smart Sensor Solutions’ and ‘Microfluidics for Diagnostics and Life Sciences’. New topics such as the ‘Digitalisation of Medical Equipment’ will also be discussed at the forum.

Located in Hall 8b, the Compamed Suppliers Forum has been sponsored by the DeviceMed journal and will hold expert lectures on numerous trending topics across the medical technology manufacturing process chain such as innovative materials and all types of made-to-order production.
