The Formnext trade fair has organised an exceptional session titled ‘Discover 3D printing’ for industry leaders who are curious to know more about the additive manufacturing technology in relation to their respective sectors. To be held on all four days of the show, the programme will be hosted by experts from the Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing (ACAM).

At a time when Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence are making headlines in the industry it becomes extremely important to understand the innovative technologies associated with it. Additive manufacturing or aptly called 3D printing is one of these technologies that have witnessed significant growth in recent years. To assist the industry to obtain in-depth and detailed information about this rising innovative technology, the Formnext exhibition is held every year.

The Formnext show is dedicated to the field of additive manufacturing (AM) and will be exhibiting several new innovations from diverse players in the sector. Apart from showcasing cutting-edge solutions; the organisers of the event have also scheduled a specialised session on additive manufacturing called ‘Discover 3D printing’. Supported by the Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing (ACAM), the session will bring together independent experts from ACAM who will explore the many dimensions of ‘3D Printing’ through their insightful presentations and case studies.

Exploring opportunities with additive manufacturing

The aim of the programme is to make industry leaders aware of the huge benefits of this technology in today’s ever changing industrial scenario, the endless opportunities which they can discover by incorporating additive manufacturing in their processes, the challenges of this technology and how to overcome it, the best strategy for adopting additive manufacturing across industries, and much more. Some of the topics that will be presented at the event include for example 'Technology overview - what is possible with today‘s technologies?' or 'AM for your sector - concrete approaches and new ideas'.

Post the programme, participants at the session will also get an opportunity to interact with ACAM experts and discuss matters in more detail. The ‘Discover 3D Printing’ programme will be held on all the days of the Formnext exhibition i.e. from November 13–16, 2018 in the AM4U Area. The timings of the session are 09:30 - 11:30 hrs. Also, for the interest of international visitors it is important to note that the programme will be held in German from November 13–15 and in English from November 14–16.
