Komet Group China continues as a strong growth market
The KOMET GROUP has been represented by a subsidiary in China for ten years. The global company is celebrating the ten year success story of its subsidiary with customers, employees, partners and representatives from local political and scientific groups.
"As one of the world's leading single-source suppliers of precision tools, we strive to be there for our customers, wherever they need us. China is one of our key markets, which makes it a cornerstone of our economic success," says Dr Christof Bönsch, KOMET GROUP executive director. "The confidence our customers and partners have in our products has encouraged us to build on our long-term commitment in China," continues Bönsch.
Since the start of 2005, the KOMET GROUP has been represented by a subsidiary in China. Around 70 people are employed in production and administration at the headquarters in Taicang, around 50 kilometres northwest of Shanghai. A further 40 employees work in seven KOMET GROUP sales offices throughout China.

On-site expertise as the key to success
In China there is considerable demand for the products and expertise provided by the KOMET GROUP. KOMET CHINA produces almost exclusively for the Chinese market and, with its seven sales offices, can guarantee customer proximity. "Thanks to our on-site expertise and uniform process and procedural standards, our Chinese customers enjoy the same quality of products and services as our customers on all other continents," emphasises Bönsch. "Wherever our customers see the KOMET name, they expect KOMET quality," continues Bönsch.
Cross-location process monitoring
The production sites in Besigheim and Stuttgart act as a "Center of Competence" and provide the international KOMET sites, including KOMET China, with active support when it comes to process and production expertise. In light of its increasingly globalised production, KOMET also uses digital assistance systems in China. "We use our process monitoring tool to collect reliable data for making our tools accurate, which gives us new insights that enable us to make improvements in the production process and exchange ideas and information between various customer sites," explains Bönsch.
Firm commitment to the location in China
Behind KOMET USA, KOMET CHINA is the international KOMET subsidiary with the second highest sales figures. The investment volume and number of employees have more than doubled in recent years. As a responsible employer, the KOMET GROUP also strives to provide the best possible working conditions for its employees at the site in Taicang as well as all its other international locations. This includes investing in training and employee development as well as occupational health and safety and health management measures.
