AMB 2018 Bigger and better, thanks to show offerings and a strong economy
Metalworking show AMB, taking place in autumn this year, will have over 1,500 exhibitors presenting their developments and innovations on a floor space of more than 120,000 sq.m.

Strong indications are pointing to the19th AMB to be the biggest show ever, according to organiser Messe Stuttgart. AMB 2018 is expected to attract around 90, 000 visitors to the Messe Stuttgart in Stuttgart from 18 to 22 September 2018. The new Paul Horn Hall (Hall 10), the special AMB show "Digital Way" and the related Congress have created ideal conditions and positively contributed to make this issue bigger and better, says Ulrich Kromer von Baerle, CEO of Messe Stuttgart.
Statistics by the Economic Experts' Council, the so-called "Five Sages of Economy", predict GDP in Germany and the Eurozone to increase by 2.2% and 2.3% respectively this year, which confirms the current economic boom in Germany and some parts of Europe. Industrial associations such as the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) expect production of machines and plants to increase by 3% in real terms. AMB 2018 is backed by promotional supporters, namely, the VDMA Precision Tools Association, the VDMA Software and Digitalisation Association and the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW).
Exhibitors will showcase the latest on metal-cutting and metal-removing process machine tools, precision tools, measuring systems and quality assurance, robots, workpiece and tool handling, industrial software & engineering, components, assemblies and accessories.
