Hannover Messe 2019 Automated quality control integrated into production

Creaform, one of Ametek’s business areas, has put its focus this year on automated quality control, a topic of increasing importance in manufacturing industry and Industry 4.0.

With the Metrascan 3D-R, Creaform offers a robot-supported measurement solution which can be integrated seamlessly into production automation processes. A 3D scanner mounted on the robot carries out fast and highly precise automatic inspections on complex surfaces. This automated measurement system is available as a ready-to-use complete or customer-specific solution, and can be installed in production directly.

Easy scanning of complex geometries

The Handyscan 3D and Metrascan 3D portable 3D scanners are said to make scanning of complex geometries and quality control easily available to everyone. They can be used wherever a component is measured. Even under such inconstant working conditions as in production, they obtain good results. Today, the accuracy range in 3D scanning is apparently better than the threshold values required for quality control, Creaform emphasises.
