Drive and control solutions Automated handling by Yaskawa
The international trade fair Motek, which takes place from 08.10.2018 - 11.10.2018 in Stuttgart, is the world's leading event in fields like production and assembly automation, feeding technology and material flow or industrial handling. Yaskawa's focus at Motek will be on the new mini robot Motomini, the extended GP robot series and Easy Teaching for collaborative operation, as well as on a high-precision path control function.

At the fair, a demo-cell with a Motoman GP25 handling robot shows a solution in which the programmed and actual path are more or less identical, despite the high process speed. The preconditions for this are supplied by the new high-performance Motoman YRC1000 control unit. This reduces substantially the time needed for programming and optimising the path.
With the Motoman HC10DT collaborative robot (DT stands for “Direct Teach”), programming can be done optionally via the robot arm. This “Easy Teaching” is enabled by additional functional buttons close to the flange.

Yaskawa is furthermore presenting, with the new Smart Pendant, a programming device of the next generation. The main menu enables simple switching between the screens, since these are listed in a certain, easily comprehensible sequence. The Smart Pendant is said to provide comfortable access to all functions. The user that has a perfect overview of all entries in the navigation menu and, in the event of a problem, always finds his way back into the main menu straightforwardly. The Smart Pendant follows the operating structure popular in today’s smartphones and is available for all handling robots with the control units YRC1000 and YRC1000micro, the maker tells us.
