Global export market for robotics

According to a September 2017 report by IFR, Japan produced 153,000 units in 2016 – the highest level ever recorded. The country is responsible for over 50 % of the global supply and exports to various regions such as North America, China, the Republic of Korea and Europe. In Japan, major demand for robotics arises from the automotive industry as new innovative cars i.e. hybrid cars as well as light-weight cars are being produced in the country.

Other reports state that Germany exported 57 % of its robotics and automation equipment. With a robot density of 301 industrial robots per 10 thousand employees, Germany has the highest density level in Europe and ranks fourth in global comparison. The country is also home of Automatica, the leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics, which will take place in Munich from June 19 to June 22, 2018.

Italy is Europe’s third-largest exporter of flexible manufacturing technologies, including robotics, with 9.6 billion dollars in Italian exports to the United States alone. Some of the other leading exporters are France, United States, South Korea, Austria, China, Sweden and Taiwan.

New innovative robots are being experimented with and researched to offer manufacturers with unparalleled benefits to match contemporary technologies in the Industry 4.0 era. Looks like the robotic revolution is here to stay!
