When the international exhibition for metal working opens from 13 - 17 September 2016, visitors will experience not only one of the world's biggest trade fairs for the international machine tool industry and precision tool sector, but also an extensive framework programme. It will cover promotion of the younger generation and include several competitions, as well as the careers trade fair. For the first time in the programme: the "AMB Experts' Lounge".
In the AMB Experts' Lounge powered by mav, each day and for each theme block six experts will report the latest news on the topics of automation, autonomous manufacture, energy efficiency, additive manufacturing, lightweight construction and productivity reserves. Special feature: In "Lounge Corners", specialists can arrange personal one-to-one meetings. The Lounge will take place on the gallery in the Oskar Lapp Hall (Hall 6).

Guided tours
AMB visitors can again meet experts on the "Metal Working Innovation Tour" organised by the Institute for Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools (PTW) of the Technical University of Darmstadt. In this special show, organised by the PTW together with leading companies, under the motto "Trends of Tomorrow" visitors can gain an insight into the six innovation themes Industry 4.0, process reliability in complete machining, energy efficiency, lean machining, robots in metal cutting and additive manufacturing. Guided tours around the stand will provide a quick overview.
On the subject of guided tours: Immediately afterwards, visitors can join one of the guided tours organised by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector. Main themes will be the preservation of resources and energy efficiency in metal working. Both are relevant to environmental protection and increase the economic efficiency of a company.
The "Region Stuttgart Lounge" of the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation is dedicated to a series of interesting specialist presentations on current themes in the sector, such as Industry 4.0.
