With PITmode fusion, Pilz now offers a modular system for operating mode selection and access authorisation. It provides more flexibility for functionally safe operating mode selection and controlling access authorisation to machines and installations.
PITmode fusion from Pilz enables efficient operating mode selection and access authorisation management, simultaneously fulfilling safety and security requirements. The system consists of the PITreader unit with RFID technology and integrated web server, as well as a safe evaluation unit (SEU).
With its modular construction, PITmode fusion can be integrated individually into the design of existing operating desks. Existing buttons can be used, for example. PITmode devices are used in machines and installations in which switching between various control procedures and operating modes is necessary.
Via a coded RFID transponder key, authorised staff receive machine access corresponding to their individual tasks. Up to five safe operating modes can be defined. The key is inserted at the operating desk, the SEU recognises the specified operating mode, and the PITreader switches functions securely.
The RFID keys are read into the PITreader and learned. To improve manipulation protection, they can be coded using PITreaders programmed specifically for the firm. Group-based authorisation management can be realised.
