Right on time for the AMB international metalworking exhibition, to be held in Stuttgart from 13 to 17 September, CERATIZIT will be unveiling its 'CERATIZIT 3x3' concept. As a creative partner, this time the carbide manufacturer has designed an innovative complete package that offers a seamlessly well-structured portfolio – one that makes it much easier for customers to choose the most economical solution. "With our user-friendly 3x3 concept, customers have no trouble in finding the solutions for their daily challenges. Complexity is a thing of the past," explains Dr Uwe Schleinkofer, Head of Development at Cutting Solutions by CERATIZIT.

CERATIZIT's presentation at stand B06 in hall 2 also showcases the recently launched shoulder milling system MaxiMill 491, the new high-performance cermet grade COLORSTARTM CTEP110 and the MaxiDrill 900 insert drill.

MaxiMill 491 – ultimate ease of handling and top performance with eight cutting edges per insert

With the MaxiMill 491 milling system, CERATIZIT is exploring new avenues in technological terms. "We have rethought the shoulder milling process and made it easy," explains Dr Uwe Schleinkofer. The new shoulder milling system with its eight usable cutting edges produces profiles of exactly 90°.

Inserts in the BLACKSTARTM and SILVERSTARTM grades make the tooling system highly economical, as Mario Wolf, Milling Product Manager, explains: "Compared to the products of its competitors, the MaxiMill 491 has a very attractive price per cutting edge." Moreover, he goes on, tool changing times are reduced as the system is suitable for both roughing and finishing, and the new insert seat design makes quick insert changes a simple matter. "The ultra-modern manufacturing technology guarantees that the precision inserts, which are produced with tolerance H, achieve outstanding axial and radial run-out, long tool life and high-quality surfaces," adds M. Wolf. With their irregular pitch and optimally adapted approach angles, the tools ensure reduced vibration and a smooth cut combined with low power consumption.

In competent dialogue for a successful solution

The manufacturer of innovative tooling solutions for the cutting tools sector consults with its customers to discover their requirements and demands and be able to develop unique products. Sales staff and application engineers gather crucial details regarding the requirements of the specific application. That is why Bernd Gruber, Programme Manager at Cutting Solutions by CERATIZIT, is proud of the tooling system: "The feedback we received since the product launch has been impressive. Our customers are enthusiastic."

Highlights of the standard product portfolio

Additional product highlights from Cutting Solutions by CERATIZIT for the AMB are the successful MaxiDrill 900 and recently developed products and programme extensions of the standard product portfolio. One of them is the innovative new cermet grade COLORSTARTM CTEP110 with a multi-layer Al203 coating exemplifying the latest technology in the nano range. For the very first time this cermet grade combines the hardness and wear resistance of a cermet cutting material with the toughness of a carbide.
