As a development vision of the auto industry, the state has always attached great importance to new energy vehicles. It is pointed out in Technology Roadmap for Energy Saving and New Energy Vehicles the sales volume of new energy vehicles in 2020 is expected to go beyond 7%, 15% by 2025 and 40% by 2030 of the total sales volume of vehicles.

Such a tremendous industrial planning, efforts of all sectors are required to perfect the relevant policies and measures. In particular, intensified efforts should be made in the construction of charging infrastructure and therefore the charging pile industry comes under the spotlight.

Market Overview

Like oil dispensers in a petrol station, charging piles can be fixed on the ground and walls, or mounted in public architectures (such as public buildings, shopping malls or public parking areas), parking areas or charging stations of residential quarters. It can charge various types of electric-driven vehicles based on different voltage levels.

According to the division of industrial chains of the charging industry, the upstream industry includes parts of charging piles, mainly including shell base, plug and socket, breaker, contactor, cable and charging gun. The midstream industry includes charging pile equipment and facilities, including charging pile, power distribution cabinet, power distribution cabinet, transformer, charger module and monitoring device. The downstream industry includes charging pile operating services, including charging, detection, maintenance, advertisement, insurance and Internet.

At present, AC charging pile and DC charging pile constitute the mainstream, while they have great differences in application. DC charging pile provides DC power for the battery of electric-driven vehicles with the power of 60kw, 120kw and 200kw and charging can be completed within one hour on average. AC charging pile provides AC power for on-board chargers and then the charger converts the power into DC power to charge the battery with the power less than 3.5kw and 7kw in general. Charging can be completed within 4-8h.
